Forgive the scepticism but has anyone actually had any cash (actually physically in their accounts!) from quidco?

I signed up for greasy palm ages ago and there was always a reason why they wouldn't pay out, it hadn't tracked properly, the merchant hadn't paid. I gave up on them in the end.

The amounts on quidco seem a bit too good to be true as well!

Be careful...if everyone signs up for things like film hire trials to get money, then cancels before paying anything.....the supplier will pull out of Quidco then everyone loses...including those who are actually interested in the service.

So don't be *too* hell bent on making every penny you can via that site, you will shoot yourself in the foot (and the rest of us!) in the long run.

But I agree, it's a great site for making money on the things you buy anyway. I'm waiting for some cash to go through to my PayPal account in April though to make sure it is as good as it seems!

  • I joined Quidco back in October and so far £24 has winged its way to my paypal account, with another £25 to come. I've not yet done anything I wouldn't have done without the cashback as I too wouldn't want them to pull out (although I did get some sweet pea seeds from Ebay on a BIN for very low price with cashback :D ).

They do pay, but you do wait a while for it.

Yes- I've had several payments from quidco - they are very good.

Length of time for the cashback to post differs depending on retailer. If you click on the month (ie. Feb 2006) under earnings you'll see a break down of when each retailer is likely to pay-up. They've also started putting stats on recently, such as how quickly retailers pay, how many missed transactions they have, complaints etc. Retailers usually pay up within a 4-6 weeks I've found.

The only complaint I have is really to do with them sending payments through paypal - it usually takes paypal about 2 or 3 weeks to release to my bank account.

There's a well-established thread about Quidco on the Referrers board.

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=136215

The owner of Quidco frequently responds to any general queries about the site on that thread and you can see that lots of people have received their money safely via paypal.

Quidco also have no minimum payout (unlike rpoints and Greasypalm) so if all you earn is £2 you will receive it as soon as Quidco have been paid by the site.

At the minute, Quidco offer £30 if you sign up the Post Office Home Phone with their £50 off your first few bills offer. Handy if you are a relatively low user as the money can come off your line rental. :)

To track your order (and therefore give the cashback rewards to you) - retail sites use what are called 'cookies'... Say if you were to visit www.yahoo.co.uk and click on a ad that says "BOOTS" - you'd get a cookie that explains to boots.co.uk to send all comission back to yahoo if/when you place an order.

All surfers should clear cookies out fairly often - to do this you click "Tools>Internet Options" and you should see Delete Cookies under General.

    I'd suggest that Quidco users should clear cookies *before all purchases*, so that you can be definate that the retailer will know exactly who to send the comission back to (ie. quidco, then you) if you see what I mean? ie. steps are;

    1) Clear cookies
    2) Login to quidco
    3) Navigate to retailer within quidco
    4) Click retailer
    5) Buy item at retail site
    6) Pay for item
    7) You should see the comission appear on your quidco account over the next few days.

Firefox users can just click "Tools>Clear Private Data" to clear cookies. (You can get firefox for free here -> www.getfirefox.com). Firefox also gives you a lot of other benefits.

    Hope that makes sense?
