Hairspray - Help!

Hi,
Not sure I will get any replies for this....but I wanna buy a decent hairspray.
I must have spent so many pounds on different hairsprays. My problem is I have very fine, flyaway hair so for my hair to stay in any kind of style, I need to use hairspray.
However, the other problem I have is no matter how hard I brush my hair, or how much I rub when washing it, I find the hairspry still leaves white stuff in my hair. It seems to cling to the strands, like little tiny white bits of dust, its horrible. I don't even use that much!!!
I have used everything on the high street like Vo5, Pantene, Elnett (which is the worst), Silverkin.
Does anyone have the same problem?? I am thinking of buying a TIGI Bed Head Superstar Liquid Pump Hairspray next week at the hairdressers - in the hope a liquid spray wont be the same as an aerosol spray?
Thanks!!

Can you still get bath cubes? I used to use them to get the yuk left over by ton's of hairspray out of my hair, you would think there would be a special shampoo to get it out.Booo!!!0

I really didn't think many people still used hair spray... if you look around how many people do you actually see who's hair stays in place.. its really not that important to have stay in place hair... messy is nice...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Yes I agree messy hair is a good look, but you would not believe how long it takes these people to achieve the 'messy look' - trust me for most people its carefully crafted.
I dont spray it slapped to my head really tight or anything. Its just a quick all over spray to keep my side fringe in place and keep volume in my hair. I dont like mousse, and I cant use gel or anything like that, so styling spray/hairspray is the best thing.
I have just ordered some TIGI Bedhead Superstar Pump Spray which I am hoping will do the job.
What is a bath cube?!? Yes most hairsprays that claim to be non residue or non flaky in fact are, and shampoo alone does not get out.
If I did not have to use it I wouldnt, I hate the stuff, but when you have flat, fine, flyaway hair like me its not a good look! :money:Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -
Bath cubes are cubes that you crumble into the bath to soften the water & make it smell nice, should find some in chemists , found these in Boots they were for old ladies when I used them 20 yrs ago.
Just done a search & 1 sight recommended disolving a tablespoon of baking soda in a cup of warm water pouring this through your hair after you've rinsed the shampoo giving your hair a rub then rinsing off. Another suggested just putting the baking soda into the shampoo. All simple & worth a try as it's probaly baking soda in the bath cubes that makes it work.Booo!!!0 -
oh thanks i might give that a go, never thought it would work. i think its cos i have so fine hair, that the hairspray sticks to it more and shows up more. a person with thicker hair etc may not notice it. maybe it will work!Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0

I only use Paul Mitchell products on my hair and I would recommend the hairspray. It give excellent hold but doesn't llok 'solid' and my gair still feels v soft.
Pricey but worth it.
You should also be buying a clarifying shampoo to get rid of your products in your hair and use it once a week. Have a look at the brands as most of them do it.
You get it on ebay or from hairdressers only - can't buy it in the shops;)0 -
Will have a look at the Paul Mitchell thanks!
But have tried clarifying shampoos and it doesnt budge it! Especially hard core white stuff left in hair by Elnett. Gonna try the baking soda when I get some!!Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -

I know what you mean, I have thin and fine hair too and (especially when it is windy) I look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards. I have never even managed to find a hairspray that works or gel that doesn't make it look greasy and lank!0
