Cleaning a grill pan

I was bought a gorgeous grill pan and am finding it really hard to keep clean. It has quite a rough surface.

Does anyone know how to clean this properly so I don't damage it.

Thanks

i use a fantastic products. its just called carbon remover and i can only buy it in robert dyas. its in a small, round, squat-type tin, white and red label. its expensive, almost £8 a tin but it works miracles.

alternatively, you could try soaking it in v hot water and soda crystal.

a friend of mine does hers ni hot water and ariel but i never quite got the result i wanted.

    Hi,
It depends on the finish. Mine is an enamel one and I just soak it in very hot water with washing up liquid to loosen stains and then use one of the stainless steel scrubbers (scrunchie type thing) - always comes up gleaming.

(edited to add: I also use the scrunchie things on the rack that fits inside - everything comes off with it)

Could you line it with foil before you use it? Otherwise, soaking is good. Lakeland do an oven tray soaker so that the whole thing fits in at once.
