Reasonably priced jewellery/accessories?

If this isn't in the right place apologies.
I wonder if you guys had any recommendations for the best places to get decent accessories at reasonable prices?
Having watched Gok on Channel 4 it is apparant to me that I am useless when it comes to accessories. I have some jewellery ie necklace/earings that have been gifts but I don't have anything thats a bit funky (its all fairly traditional).
I don't have much money to spend but don't want to waste it on something that's going to fall apart really quickly (not with a 10 month old baby hanging off it it!!!).
So what's your best place to get some great accessories (which of course can include handbags - where would a woman be without her handbags!!!!).

Try Primark and Peacocks, pretty much bang on trend all the time, and very cheap! Especially Primark.

If you have a few more pennies to spend, then River Island is great for shoes, New Look is also good for shoes and jewellery!

Try a Haberdashery for trims to brighten up plain tops or bags etc.

I second the Primark recommendation - my daughter got 2 cardi's, some trackie bottoms, a hoodie, 2 bags, 3 belts, assorted bangles, pendants and hair accessories, 6 pairs of opaque and patterned tights and 6 pairs of socks for under £50 in there recently.

She also picks up the odd piece on eBay, and in charity shops.

She's becoming a dab hand at wearing the same old vest tops and jeans but funking them up a bit with accessories.

Don't forget your nails - nail polish doesn't have to be expensive and funky colour on fingers and /or toes instantly updates your look.

I love Gok's way of pulling things together by zhuzhing them up with accessories!

I agree Primark is good for jewellery however i also love H&M there jewellery is very reasonable prices & very 'this season' - necklaces for £2.99/3.99 and scarf's for only £4.99/ 5.99- I have some lovely ones from there i got couple months ago. £16.00 for three- compared to £25-30 each in Mango & Topshop.

Thanks for the suggestions. I once bought a cheap handbag from Primark and couldn't get rid of the awful plastic smell!!!! There isn't one in my local town so will have to think of a good excuse just to go shopping to justify the extra petrol expense.
I do like H & M too although I think one of my problems is I don't have a capsual (sp?) wardrobe. I don't have key pieces that go with lots of other things. Tends to be V necked T shirts and jeans.......how original!

Bitsy - Key look is a white shirt, there is a lovely long line one in Primark at the moment, comes with sleeves rolled up and a tan plaited belt with it.

Its so easy to dress up/dress down - change around.

With jeans, leggings, coloured vests underneath. Having a white or black shirt means you can buy all diff coloured accessories, such as wood bangles and wood beaded necklace, or colour coordinate to the vest underneath.

As the meerkat would say...... simples :-)

btw if you have a bhs nearby keep a look for their jewellery which can go down by 75% !! so a £15 peice down to about £3.50! though their jewellery tends to be eveningwear....it's worth having a couple or so for the summer evenings coming up now?!
