Yep your electricity is far too high. i don't have gas and live in a 2 bed house and my bills are £70pm and that's a lot as I'm out at work all day (unless my cats are having parties and using the leccy!).

Have you read your meter recently? I got caught once by just paying estimated bills and I wasn't paying enough so ended up paying "catch up" for a year until had broken even.

Don't wish to put a spanner in the works but Crap One have only just accepted my CCCS dmp and I've been on it since January last year! It seems some creditors are better with some people and not with others. MBNA on the other hand have been brilliant from the start but others will tell you horror stories about them. Crap One are my smallest creditor and MBNA my largest, so who knows how they will react.

    Good luck!

unfortunately is definitely all correct meter readings. I have always refused to pay a bill based on estimates!! I think it's because one of my heaters is really old and probably not that economical, and I left it running at a really low temperature 24 hrs a day, rather than running it at a higher temp for a while before I got up in the mornings and home in the evenings. Just thought it would stop the flat getting so cold/damp.

Next winter I'm back to 3 jumpers and a blanket :) much more cosy anyway!! I might try and get a better heater as well. must be something a bit more efficient than the one I have.

I have taken readings today, and worked out based on the usage since the bill in april, if I carry on like now (i.e. cold ;)), they'll owe me £400 in october. So I think I'll phone in July-ish and get them to lower the payments as the outstanding bit should have been paid by then. then I'll stick around till october, get my annual discount (£100), then look around!

only just noticed the bit about cap1! that's worrying. well, it's now the smallest out of my debts, so I guess the least to worry about. Maybe if I get any spare money along the way I'll have to try and pay that one down.

Have to wait and see how they take it!

I've just cleared down MBNA. At one point they were my biggest, but they kept sticking my rate up massively, the last time it added over £100 onto each months payment so there was no way I could keep it up, so I did some shuffling around.

I just figured, seeing as it was only £350 left, and the min payments had gone down to £25 (the absolute min that they'll charge), I may as well transfer the balance and close the card properly without annoying them :D so that's gone onto my cap1 card.
