You need to check the default entry on your file. it should state the date it was registered. This is different from the date your file was updated0

Hi Mark
This factsheet explains things better than I can
Factsheet | Liability for Debts and the Limitation Act
If judgement was obtained over six years ago then there is an issue about whether they can enforce it without permission of the court. But when you were asked 'is there a ccj?' you replied 'I think so' and you need to be able to answer 'no' if you're going to use a statute barred defence.
