Hi All.

My fiance and I are going away to get married but want to have a 'marriage celebration' function for all friends and family who do not attend our main wedding. We are looking for ideas and recommendations on people's experiences in finding the best thing for us to pick or do in the following areas:

1) Function Venue - Co. Antrim Area/North Co. Down/ Belfast areas only
2) Musical Band - Total package price no more than £1000 and/or option of DJ afterwards
3) Caterers - Total package price no more thn £1000 and reasonable choice and good quality of foods on offer

Any other Entertainment and Function ideas are welcome and appreciated in advance...........
:money:

We used the Comfort in Antrim for our reception they bent over backwards for us all day. They did a great buffet in the evening not sure if suitable for what you want. We booked our entertainment through Chris Dallat was a DJ.

I was at a wedding recently where the groom had set up all the music on his laptop and linked it to speakers. Everyone was up dancing to it. I thought it was a very clever money saving idea.

We used Paul who is 5 star disco http://www.5stardisco.co.uk/ he does a good job. We got him to do his pub quiz at the start of the night to get people talking and give them a chance to let their dinner digest before the drinking and jigging about started :)

Can highly recommend Paul too, we used him for our wedding and he was great. We also used him at a few other family events and again superb.

We got a great deal from Malone Lodge hotel for our wedding.

also have a look over on www.hitched.co.uk there are forums on there, the wedding planning one will have lots of people from here who will be able to help.

Yes, my brother did this for his recent wedding with an Ipod attached to proper speakers and the music was fantastic. :T
