fake tan recommendations?

Am agreeing on the most part with "you get what you pay for" and swear by Clinique, this has never streaked and smells a but like cinammon, has a lovely colour. Failing this and for a quick 10 second wipe over, have found that Wilkinsons to a tanning wipe (was very dubious at first) and they are dead easy to use, smell like cocoa and privide a quick drying and decent colour that lasts a couple of days, its light at first but if you use them for a couple of days in a row it makes a great colour. Would really recommend them!

One tip howver would be preparation, moisturise like a crazy person for a couple of days before, make sure you do not rush what you are doing and for heaven sake wear gloves!! Whenever i have not, no matter how much I was my hands i always end up with the tell take orange hand and its just nasty!!

I, too, hate that dreadful biscuity smell that comes with fake tans as they start to develop. A couple of weeks ago, I got Piz Buin Self Tanning Tinted Lotion from Boots. It was a third off at the time for around £8. It is not the one with a dial as I saw a review of that which said it was very hard to get an even colour.

Anyway, the one I did buy I am quite pleased with. A nice colour and not too much of the smell. I can endorse the "always wear gloves" sentiment though. I have found in the past that no matter how well you think you have washed your hands, you end up with orange palms and nasty nicotine coloured nails!

I think this might of been the case years ago but thanks to the science bit we now dont have to pay huge amounts for products that work, my suggestion would be to forget high street products and go down the professional route, my fav is http://www.siennasol.co.uk/ also have a read of this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1621869&highlight= lots of great ideas and tips:)

Siennasol isn't just for dancers, it can be used by anyone and it's definetely not too dark for everyday use. I like to have about 4 or 5 layers of the 16% solution with the booster drops added to get a dark tan, but even then it's not too dark - infact I look quite pale next to some sunbed addicts! Ofcourse if this was too dark you could always go for a lighter solution but I definetly agree that spray tan solutions like siennasol are much better then ANY high street or premium fake tan as they are so much easier to apply, dry quicker, barely rub off on your clothes and they don't come off patchy.

Even if it didn't work out cheaper I would still use siennasol as it's such a good product. I'd never go back to xen tan, which is generally considered to be a great product as it's nowhere near as good and even when you get a good price it still costs a fortune compared to spray tan solutions.

Anyway, BrownMe, isn't it bad for your company image to be shamelessly spamming message boards?

Out of the ones i have tried so far, id say the best were......

Cheaper ones - Dove, superdrugs own brand.

Dearer ones - St tropez or fake bake.

My fav out them all though has to be fake bake.

You obviously didn't read the other post I made on this thread recommending a different product you also obviously haven't read the other tanning thread you spammed otherwise you would know I recommend two products and this thread also details my journey to finding the right fake tan making it quite clear that I have no connection with any tanning company whatsoever so report away I have nothing to hide or loose:)

The best gradual tan cream I've found is the Wilkinsons (Wilko) own brand. About £2.00 a bottle, smells like a moisturiser and gives good even results from first application. I use it daily in the summer and evey other day at this time of year. I use it regularly instead of lots of foundation as it gives an even skintone but doesn't look 'cakey' if you know what I mean?
