Costco - Iron has just died.

Hi

Does anyone know whether their three year returns policy will apply to my iron. Its a Tefal Steam Generator and I bought it in June 2007. It has just died today, gutted I had just got 5 items left from the weeks washload.
£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

Terramundi weighs 8lb 5oz

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I would return it even if you cannot find receipt, they will check on their computer system and will be able to tell when you bought it and if it is still guaranteed. Their customer service is excellent.

I had the same problem - if you go in with a gentle approach - not like the one you need in Argos - you should be OK - they refunded mine - and I bought a new one.

I would speak only to the Manager though - I called on the phone first - agreed it and then went in.

    Good luck

My Russell Hobbs steam iron didnt last more than a year. I think you have to be really careful and use soft water. i know I didn't change the filter regularly enough, so it was own fault it didnt last too long.

Have you checked the instructions to see how often you need to replace filter?

This is my third Tefal Steam Generator, I know the instructions back to front, they
have a light that comes on when you need to rinse out the boiler. Despite the fact that they die after a few years I still get another because I think they are great.

I tried my friends Laurastar (all £795 worth of iron) I did not find that it ironed any better than my Tefal so once again thats what I have got. I have got the extended warranty and made them check exactly what the coverage is, instant replacement in the first year and then almost instant in years 2 - 4. They just need to phone and get it written off and then I walk out of the shop with a new one. I have it all written down on the back of the warranty. So although its cost an arm and a leg again I would never go back to a regular steam iron.
