Free / Cheap online courses (Excel, Word etc)

Hi. I have been searching around for courses I can do from home to improve my pc skills. I have worked with excel, word, publisher, powerpoint etc for years, but I only know what I have had to use for particular jobs - I have never been trained. I would really like to do some advanced training to improve my skills and confidence. Learn Direct's courses look really good, and are around £30 for each topic. This isn't bad, but I'm sure I've heard of free online courses somewhere on MSE but I can't find the info. Please could anyone recommend any such courses?
Thanks v much in advance.
