Business bank accounts

Can you have just have a normal basic current account, but instead of a person’s name, you have a company name? All I want is an account to pay cheques etc into, and a debt card & online banking (something like the Co-op basic account). I'm not even fussed about a cheque book, as I get most things from the Internet, and most take Electron cards.

I don’t want any personal banking advisor, start-up pack, business planning service, overdraft, local seminars, interest in credit, just a basic account to pay money into!

I was just thinking. If one bank had a very basic buisness account with no checks, just think how many people would sign-up to it!!!

I don't know the technicalities I am afraid, but on the face of it ... wouldn't that maybe be 'deception?' Or something like that. As you were using another 'assumed' name to use the account to, perhaps, avoid the eyes of certain people?
    and most take Electron cards.

Apparently, the Co-op Cashminder will have proper debit cards to new account holders (pre-existing ones have to wait until the end of their current expiry or ... 'lose it'. ;)) so that will certainly negate the Electron thing.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

Sorry, I wasn’t implying anything underhanded or deceptive! I was meaning a basic business account that was similar to a normal basic current account, only instead of a persons name, you had a company name. Just so I can pay in cheques etc made out with a business name.

It certainly isn’t toavoid the eyes of certain people’. Am thinking about going self-employed (part time if that makes sense), after I’m discharged. It’s purely that I want to give a professional image, and decided to go with a business name, as apposed to my own as It’s only me by myself. I just like the look of a company name on a vehicle, stationary, etc.

Er, please calm down!! I understood PERFECTLY what you meant. It was nothing set in stone but maybe ... something to think about. I already said I don't understand the technicalities involved and was merely attempting to offer a few ideas, to avoid pitfalls. I shall stay out of threads like this in future I think.

Incidentally, I have no idea why you chose to enlarge your font but I AM NOT BLIND and I can see type perfectly well. Thanks very much! Apart from very obvious SARCASM.

The others can help you. Because I won't now.

While the bankruptcy sits on your credit files you'll struggle to find a bank that will touch you for a business account....all you can do is open another cashminder etc in your name BUT dont make it too obvious your using for business otherwise if the banks get a sniff they'll close the account like a shot
