I wanna large combo microwave

Hi, we are looking for a large microwave with convection oven and grill. We have looked at the Sharp R98 and the older R959 ,both 40 Litre in size but there seems to be a question over reliability.
Does anyone own one of these models that would share their findings,

Or are there any other makes that have a decent capacity .
Many thanks
Dave

    Bought a R98 16 months ago, having replaced a R957 which i had for about 7 years.
What do you want to know??????
    I use it everyday.

The old R957 lost some of the LED display after a few years, so numbers weren't 100% legible but it never bothered me. The turntable failed after many years of constant use.
My current R98 is fab, but the bulb has just blown in the last few weeks and i refuse to call an engineer out for that. I can open the door if i really need to see something. Keep meaning to look up on the web, how to change it myself, but keep forgetting to hunt instructions on the web.
I paid £179 for it in January 2008 in the John Lewis sale.

Thanks for the reply, We need a large combo which gets a lot of use as we don't have a Gas or lecky oven, just a WB cooker which in the Summer is only lit long enough to heat the water.

Do you find you have to turn cakes around half way through cooking to stop them burning( when on the shelf) ?
Is the oven easy to keep clean after roasting?

    Many thanks

Need to bake a cake to tell you an accurate answer to your cake question. Maybe baking on the turntable, eliminates an uneven issue??

I use the oven every Sunday to do the roast meat. Beef today!!! And i always just leave the turntable in and the roast goes round and round. Shelves handy for smaller items.

Easy to clean??? Downside perhaps. A microwave oven stays 100% clean if looked after, but the stainless steel wall of a combi will never be 100% clean when regularly using the oven for baking or roasting at high temperatures of up to 250C.

Thanks , I doubt the rectagular tray, the type for swiss rolls would turn without fouling the sides which is why we liked the idea of the shelves .
I see some ovens have catylitic lining whatever they are ! but are tiny in comparison to the Sharp.
    thanks again

OK Dave, so my mission is to bake a Swiss Roll sponge in a rectangular tin and post the photo here????????
My tin definitely doesn't turn, just tried it. Just need to buy some whipping cream and raspberries for my filling. But it'll never be as good as my mum's home baking.
Will do it this week. Look out for my response.
