Toni & Guy haircuts/colours for £10-20 or free

Most if not all Toni and Guy salons have model or training sessions where trainees are assessed/supervised. I've been going to different salons over the last 3 years and have never had a bad haircut. Up to last week I've always been charged £10 for a haircut which includes washing, cutting, drying, products, the works - and £20 for a colour (also done by a training hairdresser). Last week I went to the Warrington, Cheshire salon and had a fab haircut for NOTHING. Had to pay a £5 deposit which she was going to give me back at the end of the appointment. I gave it back to her as a tip. Don't know if other salons may be doing the same. Worth checking it out - just look up your nearest salon and make an appointment..:j
It's never as bad as you think! :o

Lots of student academies do it for free.

Personally, I find T&G not as professional as Vidal Sassoon.

But the problem with both those places is that there are about 20 students and only two or three teachers supervising so it takes a very very looooooooooong time.

Twice I have found via gumtree two different small saloons that have been looking for 'models'. On both occasions it was one student-one instructor. The cuts were done quickly and professionally, and I was much happier than any time I've been to T&G.

In fact, the instructors and students had trained at Vidal Sassoon.

So it's worth looking into the smaller places where there is more focus on just one model.

I agree, there rubbish!! My daughter had colour and had to sit in there seven hours!! Ok I know there training, but come on seven hours, to do something that takes normally two! By the time she had kept feeding the metre she had not saved much as our local one did it for £45 for colour as a model.

My mum and I had our appointments cancelled an hour before hand, due to a member of staff feeling ill and gone home! My mum who is elderly and deaf was already on her way there and I had no way of contacting her, I made a fuss and said an hours cancellation was really not acceptable, suddenly the member of staff appeared, so they had been lying and then they charged me ten pounds more than they had written on the original quote, so I agree with you!!!
Never argue with a fool, they will lower you to their level and then beat you with experience.........!!!:rotfl::T

That's awfully bad service. There are lots of students there, they could have asked another to do it for her or maybe one of the teachers could have done it, as they could do it really quickly.

    No excuse!

I always get mine coloured by one of their trainees at my local T&G (Telford) and it generally costs half normal rates so I get half head highlights for £20. I have never experienced bad service or anything and it generally takes a couple of hours but I do not mind - I could not afford to get my hair coloured here any other way and I have always been pleased with the result so as far as I am concerned its a bargain!
Hoping for a calmer year in 2012
