No doubt this will be a fairly basic model and I have no idea of the products quality but £9.99 for a webcam and headset with microphone could be a good option if you want to make free video calls (PC to PC) with SKype or other VOIP and you are on a limited budget? 6% cashback at Quidco.com

Went to order it and was given a choice of loyalty gifts too, supposedly free but it upped the delivery charge by £1, went for keyboard and monitor covers plus mouse mat. Thanks OP!
Thanks to all who post constructively.

The webcam seems to be good for laptops.
It is small and has the clip to put on the monitor. So might be good for the new owners of the 299 Dell 1300 laptop!
But the quality of the camera (from the technical data) does not seem so good at all.
BTW: what is the delivery charge?0 -
Never EVER use that place.
Just search for them on google.. I wouldnt buy that from them for £1

They took ages with my delivery and when it finally arrived after ringing the stupid callcentre. the item didn't work. I just couldn't be bothered returning it given the hassle of getting it in the first place.

Mine turned up eventually and it all works properly... not a very high specification, as mentioned in OP, Windows XP complained that it wasn't compatible but it does work...mouse mat is in use by daughter, covers for monitor/keyboard etc are sort of being used, but it's not clear plastic so you have to take it off for typing :PThanks to all who post constructively.

Could you please post the approx dimensions (WxHxD) for all the dust covers? Can the moinitor cover be used for a TFT monitor?Roger_Rampant wrote:...covers for monitor/keyboard etc are sort of being used...
Got some from eBay a years ago. The monitor cover wouldn't even fit my standard 15" CRT monitor, while the kb cover was meant for a very basic kb without wrist wrest (& I'm using a white garbage bin bag for my HP inkjet printer
).
Usually kb dust covers are meant for protection when not in use - they're usually translucent as can be seen at Savapoint, though transparent ones are also available. I've not personally come across a transparent kb cover that can be used whilst typing, but they are available (& expensive!): see here or here.Roger_Rampant wrote:...but it's not clear plastic so you have to take it off for typing :P
Do not use the dust covers at all - not even partially - for the case & monitor when switched on. This can cause excessive heat buildup & components can fail. G0
