I have opted for Thermaltake at an additional £23.+ as overwork to cpu and graphics have been a problem for me. I have also opted for windows xp @ £73+ I'd appreciate it if anyone knows of a cheaper price for windows xp (not interested in vista) or if the thermaltake is uneccessary I would appreciate a nod. If you know of a better spec or price please let me know.
Thanks
Memory is not an issue I have a crippled pc which I can cannabilise 4g of ram from, I don't need an expansive hard drive just optimum performance for browsing/flash programs.

Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.
Together we can make a difference.

I'd recommend getting a slightly better graphics card such as a 9600GT, but that's about it. You could also consider the 1TB Samsung SpinPoint F1 for your primary storage. It might seem an extravagance, but it actually outperforms many smaller drives.0

Thanks for your comments but I'm not sure where your coming from with the 1tb comment, storage is not an issue for me just browsing performance? Will this make any difference for me?
Is there no-one who can find a better spec for same or lesser price?
Can anyone suggest an alternative supply for xp for example sub £73? have searched but best prices on ebay and all seem to be scammers reselling dell discs.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Well, if you're just browsing the internet you won't be needing either of the things I suggested. In fact, if you're just browsing you don't even need Windows; something like Ubuntu would do just as well.0

Ubuntu is an operating system based around the Linux kernel. If you'd like to know more about it, take a look at the Ubuntu Pocket Guide. Unlike Windows, you don't have to pay through the nose to get your hands on a copy; it's free!
Have you considered buying each of the components you need separately? That way you're not wasting money on things you''ll not be using. I only suggested those extras because I assumed you'd be playing games on it.
By the way, you'll probably need a 64-bit operating system to make full use of all that RAM...0 -
Ubuntu's good and free as Tanglefoot says.
Your requirement of 'fast' graphics and processor does depend on what resolutions and fps you watch these flash player things at. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/systemreqs/ may give you an idea of requirements.
If everything you watch is HD a better graphics card might improve performance. If you're just watching stuff over the web I doubt there'll be the need for anything really quick.
Hope you get what you want though...0 -
Hello again!
It's just occurred to me that you could also save forking out on a Windows XP license by taking a test drive of the Windows 7 Release Candidate. You'd be covered at least until next March, which should give you plenty of time to consider the merits of alternative operating systems.
Also, have you given any thought to your choice of browser? Some undoubtedly handle Flash better than others...0
