LONDON and COUNTRY, poor service

Just like to express my disgust when using the services of LONDON and COUNTRY. Previously used them as a 1st time buyer with no issues, now on my remortgage application they have been extremely poor. For instance i found my own mortgage deal, when they repeatedly offered me a CHELTENHAM and GLOUCESTER product that i clearly didn't want. To add insult to injury they then quoted £1000 more than shown on my redemption certificate for the purposes of my loan. The redemption certificate being dated over 6 weeks ago, hence even with fees to pay, accrued interest etc they wouldn't amount to the difference as shown above, as i've payed off another £900 since. When i received my mortgage offer i contacted the solicitors that they recommended , who knew nothing about the mortgage offer being accepted. They( Land C) then state over the phone that i'd be better off going with the amount they advised as it will process quicker, as a new amount will take a week to possibly put together. This now puts me in an awkward position, if i don't complete the mortgage by the end of MARCH, i end up paying interest for the whole month of APRIL, even if i complete on the 1st of APRIL( No joke)
Surely even with my limited knowledge in the mortgage scene, borrowing money you clearly don't need is madness. According to there figures for every pound borrowed i pay £2.12, so that one thousand pounds become two. Real money saving advice. Just basics like returning phone calls have been ignored, never being able to speak direct to the mortgage adviser, only via email. What really upset me was the fact that when i eventually spoke to them today on the phone, they stated that they can't speak direct with my previous lender in regard to redemption balance, so unless i'm missing the point ,what are L and C, actually providing?, beacause if i'm understanding correctly they are basically going on all info supplied by the customer, not the lender, surely this leaves them open to criticism. If i wanted extra on my mortgage i would have asked, i just think it's a total cop out, i for one will not be using there services or recommending them again.
Rant over, i would like some valued opinions please.

L&C do have a contributer here and they should be able to respond to your post far better than anyone else.
In the past when comments like this have appeared, often the person using the telephone service they offer would have been better placed using a local face-to-face advisor allowing you to see the research and information provided and giving you the opportunity to chip in with comments and questions when required. Sometimes having that ability to alter something in the software as you are sitting there (i.e. try this instead of that) and seeing what the different outcomes are is more desirable and more suited to the face-to-face model rather than the telephone model.
Maybe they have done little wrong but perhaps the telephone model wasnt best suited for your needs.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Sorry it's taken a while to respond - been away for a while.
It's really hard to talk about your case without knowing the specifics - I'd be happy to look in to your details further if you wish - let me know.
I think this all comes down to a communication problem - we should have been able to answer your questions far better than we seem to have done, and for that I apologise.
It reads to me that you are still continuing with your application - if that's the case and you need any help, don't hesitate to contact meI work for a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
