My new life - Day 6

When should this stop becoming my "new life" and just be my life!!!??? - that's one to ponder in the meetings I have today!!!

I can't believe how well I have done so far. I can't wait until tomorrow night - then it will have been a week!!!!

During the week-end I survived on very little.
I went to the theatre - friend's treat and just spent £1.30 at the bar. I walked so saved money on petrol and my friend took me home as she wouldn't let me walk on my own.

On Saturday, I thought I would come unstuck - I was judging at a competition and thought I was bound to get stung for raffle tickets and things - It can be hard to say no to the club about this sort of stuff because the club is my baby - but I was far to busy to spend a penny!!! And my dad called in with some sandwiches for me which I didn't have time to eat until 5pm!

Saturday night was a night in with BF and a meal cooked from stuff I had in.
I went food shopping on Sunday, but wrote a meal planner first and only spend £9.72 - I couldn't believe it!!!!!
I haven't set a monthly food budget yet, but I thought that was pretty good and I stuck to my £10 weekly spends and the leftovers have gone into a savings pot!!! Hurray

i plan to stop counting the days tomorrow 0- then I might just count the weeks - and be able to keep my ramblings on here down to a minimum!
BF decided yesterday that we should put £50 a month towards a holiday - arghh haven't budgetted for that!!!
  • Really well done - it'll soon be second nature to you! It's a bit like giving up smoking I think - after a while you forget to count off the minutes, hours, days and weeks and before you know it you struggle to remember a time when you did actually smoke (in my experience anyway :p ) It'll be the same with the spending and saving, your 'old life' will seem so long ago and you'll wonder how you ever lived before without this new found discipline

    Louise30,

Your ramblings on here are always very welcome.

Nice to hear how other people are sticking to a budget and still having a life.

You've done really well over the weekend and have still done some of the things you enjoy.

    Well done! X

    Thanks for the support everyone!
Dinkylou - I am a trampoline coach - the nearest club to where I live is about 40 miles away. The club is brilliant and very well thought of and I used to travel there up to six times a week - but not I've retired from competing I didn't want to travel that far to coach - so I set my own club up a couple of years ago. So now doing my hobby is free - and we (I have a few more coaches now) coach 150 kids - Im v.proud of them. My advice to people looking for second jobs is to look at coaching a sport - you don't have to be good at sport to do it and you are helping local kids at the same time!
