I currently have a low cost mortgage plan which is been running for about 18 years
Over the years i have had three letters telling me that the endowment is below track and requires more money. This i have done to keep them on track.
Apparently in the last five years of the plans lifetime the endowment company gradually switch my units into cash funds. This is known as cash switching.
Now the endowment company has asked me to chose two options on how to invest the money ??
Option 1.
Keep paying the recommended premiums and increases and remain in the cash switching process
If i choose to stay in the contractual review process which provides a guaranteed minimum payment of the sum assured when my plan matures. Switching units into the cash fund offers protection from falls in investment markets. However, it also offers lower potential growth than other riskier funds which have greater exposure to stockmarkets.

Option 2.

opt out of the cash switching process
If i choose this the company will no longer recommend premium increases to keep my plan on track to reach its target amount. It also means there will be no guaranteed minimum payment at maturity. While my plan may benefit from increases in investment markets it will not be protected from falls. once i have opted out of automatic cash switching, i cannot reinstate it.

help ???????
