You can "boil" eggs in the steamer!!

Hey everybody!

Following a debate with my OH (he didn't think it was possible :rolleyes:) I tried "boiling" an egg in our electric steamer, along with some salad potatoes.

I'm delighted to report that it works, and will never again have to have a pan on to boil an egg at the same time as the steamer is cooking veg or salmon. It only took 7 minutes :j

I've got a Tefal steamer and the basket bottoms have built in egg holders. I've never actually done my eggs in the steamer but I might have a go, according to the instructions it takes 18 minutes for 6 hard boiled & 10 minutes for 6 soft boiled.

You aren't boiling them you are steaming them.

Eggs can be cooked in a number of ways -boiled, fried, steamed, poached, baked or microwaved.
