Food for a rallying trip

We quite often go away to rallies with about 12 people to feed. I tend to make twinks hobnobs and millionaire shortbread. Was going to make some toffee crispy bars and buns. Is there any I can prepare say this weekend and freeze?

The other thing is we have a DF grill, microwave and kettle. At the moment I pre cook the bacon and sausages so we can reheat in the microwave as it was a nitemare cooking them on the GF took forever to cook for everyone. Any other tips on what could be made in advace to eat. We can often be at the service area over 12 hrs and food is a necessity as the prices at the vans are well a rip off:p.

Thanks in advance x

Just had a quick chat to my Mum who is a seasoned caravanner ;) She said that she regularly cooks a chicken (maybe a couple for your numbers) at home then takes it with her in a cool box/the van fridge. She also makes Weetabix Cake

I found this thread on Camping & Caravan cooking whilst I was searching & thought it may be helpful.

Edited to add: Just remembered that when I was younger & we used to camp Mum made sandwiches & froze them along with cartons of fresh juice. She then put the juice & sandwiches in a cool box and the sandwiches defrosted along with the juice whilst staying fresh & cold.

    Thanks for the reply.

Yeah the freezing of sarnies would be good as we have no fridge compartment where we go so would keep stuff more. Also the weekend we go next we go the sat but the rally isn't till the sunday :j.

    Thanks SunnyGirl  x
