Getting paid for photos of celebrities?

Has anyone ever sent in a photo of a celebrity to a magazine and got paid for it? I know that a lot of the celebrity/gossip mags say they will pay up to £200 for snaps of celebrities walking down the street/eating or just doing normal thingss and just wondered if they really do pay out? I live in an area where I always see loads of celebrities and wondered if it is worth trying to submit a celebrity photo?

Yes they do really pay out, but they get hundreds of photos a week and only pick two or three, so the odds aren't good. But then if there are loads walking past, you may as well give it a go as it's hardly any effort at all really
