HFC Bank online payments - help please
I bought a laptop from PC World last month on the 'buy now, pay later' deal with HFC, and had a Direct Debit set up (but they will only start taking payments from October).
I'm now in a position to pay off the loan and avoid interest charges, however I can't for the life of me work out how. I've tried calling customer services, to talk to an actual person and pay over the phone but when I get the message to be put through to an advisor, it just goes back to the options menu. So, so frustrating.
So then I figured I'd just pay online through my online banking.
On the letter HFC sent me, it says:
"Send payments to us direct by quoting our sort code and your 8-digit account number."
Their sort code is on the letter, but their account number isn't. So on my online payment form, do they mean I enter my own HFC account/reg number where the recipient's bank account number usually goes, or have they forgotten to provide one? Do banks only need to provide a sort code for payments to be sent to them?
Any info would be appreciated, I've tried entering my HFC registration number as the sender reference only but the account number needs to be filled out for payment to be sent.
Thanks.

Yes, their sort code and your account number, then they know who to credit the payment to.
I did this type of thing with PCW a few years ago.
Make sure to check that it goes through correctly, otherwise you may have a nasty shock come October. Ask them for confirmation of payment.0 -

Thank you, I wish they'd make these things clearer. I will definitely ask for confirmation.0 -
call them on 0121 214 5790, or 0870 600 86730

is it ok to pay my debts in two instalments? please reply0

Yep, they will let you pay as much or as little until the account is settled. I think PC world are like Currys and charge an early settlement figure when you pay without using the direct debits.0

Advice to all.
If you have one of these then the best thing to do is.
1) Pay off a large sum of money but NOT clear the total balance. Leave a few quid on the account.
2) Then pay off the remaining amount or let the last monthly payment clear.
For some reason I found that if you pay it all off in one go you get whacked for the interest. If you pay off a large sum but don't clear it then it just shortens the payment to a small time and then you are only charged interest on the remaining amount.
I did did this with a £600 HFC purchase. Paid £595 in the HFC branch, went outside and called head office, confirmed £5 was left on the balance. Went back into the branch and paid them £5. (or close as).
I'm sure this still works for pretty much any loan doesn't it?0 -
Be warned though...im pretty sure that if you choose to use even 1 of your monthly payments you are then liable to pay the high interest rate on the loan.
I was advised that if I went into my monthly payments then the high interest rate applied to the money borrowed and I would then owe that on top of the price of my purchase. By settling early I paid the purchase price plus the £25 settlement figure...no interest.0
