Morrisons Reduction Section

I always use to call at my local Morrisons before work to check out the products they had put on reduction due to close sell by dates. I've noticed in the last couple of weeks though, that the reductions haven't been worth it.
Eg. 4 weeks ago there were some Indian meals for 2. Normal price £6.25, out of date that day, reduced to £3.59
Today, same situation, same product, only reduced to £5.75. That's a saving of a whole 75p!
Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my local manager (Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire) who seems to be doing it. i.e. is it a company policy thing?
Thanks
Mark

But if nobody buys it to save a mega 50p,they will have to reduce it further or lose it.0 -
Yes, I have noticed too. I went to Morrisons yesterday and the reductions just seem to be enough to get the price below the nearest pound eg £3.15 reduced to £2.95.
This was late morning though so I suppose the stock that was left would have been reduced further later in the day. I think quite a lot would have sold to be honest as those little yellow labels do attract!0 -
I thought they usually discounted them, wait to see if someone bought it, discounted it again, wait to see if someone bought it.....0

Daft as it seem, Bacon at £1.99 a pack, buy 2 for £3.00
Down in the reduction section the bacon was reduced to £1.49 (if you bought two then you would save a massive 2p)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I have noticed this minimum reduction as well, but have mixed feelings as I am also a Morrison's shareholder and hate to see "my" profit wasted
I think their stock control seems a lot better than Asda, at least in my locality, never seems to be much available at BBE, whereas at local Asda they are heaving with unsold BBE items, unfortunately mostly not stuff I would buy regardless of price, so no real bargains for meWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
I think it's hit and miss. I was in last week and there was literally trays of single and double cream all reduced to 9p per carton - and last night there was a few grubby-looking pizzas at half price and a sandwich with a whole 10p knocked off - this was at 7pm."All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -
spoke to one of the guys working on the fish counter who was marking them down yesterday in the Glasgow Morrisons and he explained their policy was 25% for dated tomorrow and 50% dated today. But the aisle with standard goods had some really poor reductions - 80p down to 75p for a tatty broken soup packet when they were offering 2 for one on the normal ones anyway! Bizarre.0

I think it depends what time you go. I work near 1 & live near another - the one I live near has fantastic bargains at 8.45pm ( closes 9.00pm)
Went to the other one last night (which is usually rubbish bargains on an evening) and got a 800g loaf for 9p & 4 croissants also for 9p, but they only seem to ever have the chilled bargains during the day - go in the evening, and there's nothing there[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0
