  • OK!

Basically I was fresh from my lightbulb moment. Was getting into the swing. Pucker spending diary being kept up to date. Everyday felt like a no-spend day. Looking at cutting the budget. Switched bank account to save £10 a month, that sort of thing.

Anyways, one day I decided to drive myself to Fords. To buy some new car mats. I had perfectly suitable car mats. Nice carpet ones in fact. But for some odd reason I felt compelled to buy new ones. So go into the Fords shop bit and proceeded to buy 4 mats. Cost. Nearly £70!

To this day I don't know why I did it. I didn't need them. I didn't particularly want them. I just bought them.

But folk round here won't let you forget it!

Told you it weren't that good! :p :rotfl:

It's a bit like my LCD telly, except it cost 10 times as much, and I'm not daft enough to tell anyone about it :D:D:D

We all have a story I think but SS's has become legendary! Its a good thing I think, that you admitted to it SS, doesn't help the rest of us to deny it when we slip up I guess

southernscouser say you could knock £5k off your debt over the next year by doing matched betting, how much would that bring your debt free date forward by?

Please call me SS mate. Everyone else does!

Well I'm paying off about £7,000 a year so we're probably looking at 9 or 10 months with the interest I'll save. So before the end of 2008 as I'm a month or two ahead of the one in my sig! :D

I did at first but then I thought writing "SS say" made me sound like I had a stutter ;)

That would be great then - and if you could make £7,000 (not necessarily in a year) that would bring it a whole year closer?
