Which computer???

Im looking to buy a new computer but am totally bewildered by it all, what i need is a pc which will allow me to burn dvds which i can then preferbly watch on my telly through my pc, i would also like it to recieve digital tv, does anybody have any experience with windows media package as apposed to xp? I also need a tft screen, if at all possible i would like al this for around the 500 mark, ive seen a few on ebay, but yet again feel a bit confused by it all.

We've been doing a similar search, for Mrs V's mum & dad.
Our first PC & the one we have now came from http://www.evesham.com they have a good reputation & INCLUDE 3year warranty, unlike some places charge extra.
there are a couple of systems, just over the £500 price, we're more than likely going for the bigger monitor & memory, so it'll be £550 ish in the end.
