I want to make a compensation claim? RSI related

To cut to the chase I have worked in the same place for a year. Desk job 12hr shifts. We have had three DSE assessments since I have been here, each time i have complained about:

Monitor heights
Seats non-adjustable
keyboard level etc

Nothing was ever done despite raising the issues

I have now been to the docs and have been diagnosed with RSI, I suffer lower back pain, upper back pain, pain and numbness in my right hand and forearm.

I have now informed the company, they took 3 weeks to assess my workstation. Found to have the issues above as mentioned.

One of their solutions was to take up smoking to encourage movement!!!! Even have printed email to prove

I am due to finish work here shortly anyway. I would like to put a claim in to cover costs for any corrective physio and possible compensation???

How do I go about this correctly without 'losing' my job?

Sorry, i am a bit old fashioned, mainly because i believe people should take responsibility for themselves.

You could have heightened lowered the monitor yourself. Youve sat there for 12 months just allowing it to happen.

Chair - not so sure about your personal chair. you should have insisted on an adjustable chair.

Keyboard, use your common sense and move it to where it should be.

Result, no RSI, no back pain, no numbness,

Theres that word again - compensation. I hate it.

However, i do agree with you that the smoking suggestion was out of order
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I couldn't have heightened the monitor, there is no adjustment. I followed all appropriate posture diagrams on the net and the monitor was 12" below where it should have been. As we hot desk, what did you expect me to do? Adjust every PC to my requirement??

Well without the adjustable chair which I mentioned in the DSE questionnaires but were never actioned meant I could have placed the keyboard where it should have been instead of slouching

I am after costs for any physio I will require. why should I be out of pocket and in pain for doing my job? I raised the issue several times it was never addressed
