How to get into Auxilliary nursing?

Hello all,
I'm studying an open uni course in environment and technology. It leads to 60points and I've got certificates here and there for a few things, odds and ends. Anyhow, I'm into health and safety, food safety, cleanliness and all things similar. I've not had a job for a while but I'm looking really just part time cleaning to tide me over and get back into working (I've got a 4 year old) Anyhow, I was thinking about getting into care work, a carer for elderly shopping, domestic, emotional care etc Sorry I can't remember the exact word :o I know you need at least health and social care level one NVQ for it but I was wondering more how to get into a job and train.

The thing is I haven't got experience and I can't really say why I want to do it in a sentance, well a clean cut one. It's just something I feel I'd like to do! I know it sounds a little vague. I initially wanted to be an environmental health officer but I don't think I'd get the qualifications !

Any advice welcome!

my sister is an EHO and she did her NVQ level 3 in catering and then went to uni and did a degree in enviromental health for 4 years. There is a lack of jobs in this area as she has not got a job yet!

Most agencies/care homes are desperate for staff and many will put you though the NVQ 2 in Care at their expense or through Train to Gain. Have a look in your local paper and make some telephone calls.
