They all look like very big numbers, though bear in mind the GDP of the USA is also a very big number: $14.3 trillion.

I would be interested to see a UK equivilent of the graph.

It is when you look at the magnitude of these numbers, it completely beggars belief that this is all simply going to work out fine and that we are now on the road to recovery.

6 times the quantum of the stimulus package

Wouldn't have been simpler just to say 6 times the total amount ??

The Federal Reserve has bought assets

Does that mean that when they sell the assets it will be 'mega' deflationary ??

Simpler yes, but not nearly as stylish.

Note to self: use "quantum" and "stimulus" twice a day from now on.

And since we're talking trillions, that's gone beyond mega-inflationary, through giga-inflationary, and into the realms of tera-inflationary!

Where is Dopester when you need him icon7.gif Wookie is on one again.
Dopester, remember the inflation discussions with !!!!!! last summer when he was insisting that falling sterling would cause immediate inflation even though commodity prices were collapsing. I think he wanted to up interest rates, just like most of the
bears, we would be right in the sticky stuff now if we had done that.
