Dell has another "weekend special" - code NPUK5-D03315. Don't think it's been posted yet, but if it has please feel free to flame me.
This is a Dimension 3100 for JUST £249 including delivery. Full spec is:
Upgrade path is limited but you could easily double the memory for about £20, add some decent speakers for about £15, add a PCI video card for about £40 when PCWorld have them on offer, and you've got a cracking little machine.

review of it here

Upgrading simply isn't an option when it comes to the system's Intel-integrated graphics. Scoring a woeful 4.5 frames a second in our Doom 3 test, the graphics just can't cope with the latest games - and because the proprietary Dell motherboard has no AGP or PCI-Express 16x slot for a graphics card, you can't replace the graphics card with anything better. For a system designed for home entertainment, this is a serious flaw. In fact, limited upgrade potential is an issue throughout this system. Only one PCI-Express slot is free for internal add-in cards, while outside, only four USB 2 ports are provided to plug in external devices and there's no FireWire.Ex forum ambassador

You can update the graphic with a pci card and whilst it isnt cutting edge my youngest plays the sims 2 on it fine. I accept on a similar system cpu, ram, agp card *similar crad) it would run better.
I do wish they would put even a agp slot or better a pci-e0 -
not running down the deal
just wanted to make people aware while they consider the offer

I no Browntea it has limited upgradeability particularly on gaming front. Still a very good deal just as long as you no where you stand.
Both my daughters have similar processors one is home built and it is faster than the dell even with a almost 4 year old Nvidia 4200 grx card.0 -
In all fairness you wouldn't be likely to buy something as cheap as this if you were heavily into cutting-edge PC gamesthe graphics just can't cope with the latest gamesThanks to all who post constructively.
Have an A1 day!0 -
Hi People,
Not dissing this deal as everyone has their budgets and requirements but there is still this one going too on the same model but with better specs which are worth the £80 extra (£329 inc vat and del) .....

Basically the upgrades from the cheapest PC shop would cost you more than £80 !!! Btw the Dimension 3100 has 2 x PCI slots and 1 x PCI-e (think is this a x1 slot) although with this offer one of the PCI slots would be used by the modem. Note this doesn't include a printer, not knocking the £249 deal, but the Dell printers cost a lot for original cartridges if you have problems refilling.
As OP said feel free to flame ;-)
Cheers
