    Hello there.

If you check your credit rating everymonth I wouldn't worry, because if you had defaulted on a payment it would show up on your rating.

Also is the reg of this car on any of the letters? If so you could pos contact DVLA/police to see if thye can proove you have never been registered to this car.

I just wanted to add to this post. We got letters for a debt and it turned out to be someone else in the family and they owed the money (unbeknown to us) but they chased up my husband as he had the same surname. Could be the same things happening with you if they are getting no joy from the other people owing money. Hope this helps.

thanks, there is only myself,so the debt can not be for other members of my family, nice idea though, spoke to mackensie hall this afternoon, they told me the debt is from when i lived in stoke on trent ( which i never have ) and the car is a ford galaxy ( which i have never had ) They wouldnt tell me the registration though,i asked them for my date of birth, they said that they couldnt proceed to tell me,untill i had told them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!are these people really that dumb,so i made one up making me 60 instead of 40,she replied " thats what i have written down here,so it must be your debt" with that i laughed, said "see you in court!" and hung up.

That's brilliant - well done you for catching out the b******s!!!!!

Sure this will all work out fine for you - they obviously haven't got a leg to stand on. Perhaps you could could pursue them for compensation for harrassment!
