For the first time EVER....

I have had money left in my purse on the day I get paid, from the week before.
For the first time ever, I have money in the bank (OK not a lot) but it's there, it's not for bills and instead of drawing it out and spending it, we have left it there.
For the first time ever, I HAVE SAVED!
The £2 savings is going great, I have never ever ever saved money in my life.
I'm one of....sorry, I mean I WAS one of those people who, if they had money or credit, it had to be spent on any old crap because it was there to be spent.
That was the old me/us.
It's all thanks to everyone who contributes on this site, not to mention :money: Martin, who, without starting this site, none of us would be here.
It is such an uplifter, I'm just sorry I didn't see sense (OK, MSE!) before.

well done shell
I can echo everything you've said, being on the DMP has made such a difference & its so great not to have to live on credit anymore :j
Even though we have to pay our debts back its great to know that they're not going to get any worse & the only way is up from here! :beer:0 -

Awwww thanks you lot!
(Ozzy, millionare? ha ha, I wish!)
We have just set up a DMP and the first payment is due 1st April (but shell you're a bit premature with this thread aren't you? I can hear many saying)
The DMP payment is covered, what is left, is what we are keeping for shopping, road tax, birthdays, hobbies and entertainment (you on DMP's will know what I mean) but the OLD me would have spent that money and worried about them things when they arose.
No more.
God it's been good this week, son had a friends party today, daughter has a friends party tomorrow, but instead of robbing Peter (soz pete lol) to fund the presents for the partys, shock horror, the money was there to fund them!
It is something I have never done or experienced before. (And that does sound sad but it is true!):):):):):)
