Waiting game?

mortgage application was submitted yesterday and its just a case of waiting now, but how long is normal to wait for acceptance?

also gf checked credit rating and her score showed as fair but was 20 points off good. only things blotting account was two missed credit card payments from over 3 years ago and 2 late catalogue payments

is this likely to scupper chances of getting mortgage

its not in my name at all as i have really bad credit and we arent financially linked in anyway

we have a 25% deposit for the mortgage

really dont want to lose the house

Basically you are telling us that youu have applied for a sole mortgage under your girlfriends name?

As you gf has slightly poor credit due to missed payments in the past, the mortgage company will bring this mortgage application to the second tier for approval. As you said this is a waiting period and should not take as long as 5 working days. If you do not get a response after 5 working days, you should chase up as the approval process sometimes gets dropped off the system.

its all been done in her name, would have a cat in hells chance if i applied lol
really worrying now just wish we could fast forward a few weeks

If it's simple it will take a few days. If it's not I'm afraid it can take as long as it will take. I've been waiting three weeks....

is there any know reason why yours is taking so long, is your credit good etc?

what sort of deposit are you putting down or doesnt this matter??

The reason is that there seems to be a misunderstanding over a second income stream. My credit rating is fine. My husband's is ok, but non-existent as he's never had credit cards, loans or anything. Basically whatever the accountant sent them to prove my income wasn't what they wanted and I'm waiting for someone to call me back to confirm what they do want! I think aside from that problem it would probably have taken a week for them to ok us. So hopefully it won't take you as long! Hope it goes ok for you.

its a pain when things dont go as you plan. feel like ive waited weeks already to find out and we only sent off mortgage app yest.
