Good Restaurants: Newcastle to Belfast

Heading down to Newcastle at the weekend to escape the bikers (opposite end of the country from the NW200).
Looking for a nice place to eat on the way back up from Newcastle to Belfast on Saturday night.
Any good reccomendations?

The Primrose in Ballyhahinch would be a good spot, plus there's a place in Dundrum with a good reputation, but I can't remember the name right now. Someone will post it though.

Mourne Seafood Bar (Dundrum), yum yum yum! Their food is great. Was that the one you meant Bigcammy?

The Buck's Head in Dundrum is hard to beat. The Maghera Inn in Maghera is slightly off course, but also good. I would agree about the Primrose in Ballynahinch too.

It was the Buck's Head in Dundrum, thanks for the reminder Flogthedog. See here http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/lifestyle/weekend/joris-minne--bucks-head-14271419.html

Thanks everyone, The Primrose and Bucks Head both seem to be highly recommended.

I like the villager in Crossgar. Good traditional grub.

When you're down in the Newcastle area, there's a great wee fish & chip shop in Annalong called the Galley fish shop. People travel from Newry to it. I've always got great fish and chips in it. All made from locally caught fish. There's also a nice wee cafe in Annalong called Top Notch.

I loved their food but found the portions tiny - they served 5 of us with the amount of vegetables that I'd serve for 2, were quite snotty when we asked for more and we were still hungry after 3 courses. Not good enough for £35.

Thanks for that. I like quantity as well as quality. ;) Was that the bar menu or the A la carte?
