I have a 5 moc policy local to me and HO back them up on their right to that decision. Its not a god given right to use mocs and sometimes you have to take it on the chin when you get turned down.[/QUOTE]
But they should all do it in this case, it's different. The policy on spend & saves (or conditional spend vouchers) is national and Tesco Store Managers have no final say about them (you are right, they do have discretion about other mocs).
Spend & save vouchers are not 'mocs', they are different and are accepted under a very long-established Tesco policy. A much older policy than the 'coupon policy' we know and love. All Tesco stores should take one if you are spending over £30 in one transaction - and the proximity of a Morrisons is irrelevant.
But in reality loads of people will get refused, just like they did last year. Just don't bin the fivers and don't give up!!
If you get turned down when spending £30+ and offering one of these in Tesco then (if you want to avoid in-store hassle) send the voucher plus your receipt to Dundee Customer service and name & shame the store, ask for a gift card please as you tried to use it in good faith, knowing Tesco allow these.
Personally I rather enjoy the challenge of the in-store hassle over these, just to make a point and to make things easier for next time. It was a laugh last Summer using the similar ones the Sun printed then...I never got one turned down - but it took balls of steel.:rotfl:
P.S. Just one point of caution - we should all check these vouchers have a 99 barcode when they appear on Monday. I suppose it's just possible that Morrisons have learnt from last time (that they lost business to Tesco with customers using these in their droves) - and maybe they will print a non-Tesco-friendly version. That would be a pain after building our hopes up!
Best to check the barcode before buying your 6 copies of the Sun on Monday.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

On the point of caution....surely it won't matter if it is a 99 coupon.
If Tesco have the policy of honouring them, then surely it just makes it more awkward for the operator as s/he would have to enter it as a non-scan coupon. (obviously more awkward for the customer too- since half of them won't know what to do with it, presumably!)
Does that seem logical...or am I barking up the wrong tree again today?;)It's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)

No you're not barking up the wrong tree VC. Technically they should accept them anyway because of the 'all major supermarkets' part of their policy on conditional spend vouchers.
But a lack of barcode would be a much, much bigger hurdle to leap over at store level than anything else. For instance, AFAIK only a few nice Tesco stores accept Farmfoods and M&S conditional spend coupons by putting them through as a non-scan coupon. Most stores refuse these as they don't scan, my local stores don't take them (I have tried).
So I really hope for a nice 99 barcode again, like last Summer.:DPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
