advice on buying digital camera which one?

Looking to buy a digital camera, know absolutly nothing about them. Maxim £50 to spend. I've read various reviews and still don't know what to do. I can get a refurbished Fuji Finepix A210 Zoom for 44.99 or discontinued fuji from their site. Has any one got one of these? Are they any good? Would like one with as big a screen ( if that's the right word) so I can see it without my glasses. Any recomendation would be welcome, Fuji also have a basic one for 19.99 what do you people think. Don't want to take fancy pictures just holiday snaps.
