I had a good day today as well, one of my 'we-don't-take-Morrisons-spend-and-saves' local Tesco stores actually refunded me a fiver for one of them. They are still not (yet) taking them really but the CS lady explained a bit more about the problems taking non-scanning coupons will cause them in the long run - they may not be able to show them at all as 'income' for the store, I think - but she agreed to refund one.

The rest of my unpaid fivers are going to be sent off to Dundee with copies of my receipts this week - and every week after that if I have to!

I am also making a point of always going to CS with my Morrisons moc each day, even though it's pretty fruitless as I am usually denied it at the moment. But I think it's a good way of raising the problem with the right staff (today's CS lady was great) - after all there are 6 weeks of these.
My store don't turn a hair at the other mocs on my receipts BTW and I am making sure I am actually paying a fiver in cold cash each time so there can be no arguments about reclaiming later.
As far as I can tell, it doesn't go down as "income".
It ends up as a "cost" against national store promotion on the P+L.

On the till side... my local puts it through as "non-scannable", then the cashier need to go down to the bottom of the screen and put it through as "other", and input the value as £5.
It's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)

Coupon woman, this used to happen to me - never know which till i'll get thrown to. Now I have even prepared myself for that. I find a coupon friendly s.a, check to see where the supervisor is (usually they are the ones managing the tills), linger in an aisle opposite the till I want to use (if there is a long queue), just happen to be browsing in there for a few mins until the queue goes down. Once that happens I get myself over to that till and quickly unload the shop. That way if s.v asks me to move to a till that is empty I politely decline, as re-packing my trolley and moving to another till will look like more work than its worth. I also spread my shopping out on the conveyor belt to put ple off from joining the queue. Gosh so much planning, but its worth it when you save the £'s!

    thanks Poshnosh

I will give this a try tomorrow.

Its really annoying as just a few days earlier the SA took loads of coupons off me without any moaning or anything. They should all operate the same policy. The policy should be
" Take all coupons, in date, as long as Tesco sell the product "

On a positive note, I went to a garden centre (as a lot of you have recommended) and got some coupons

Well the display stand said help yourself so I did, and got the following

21 - Miracle Gro Evergreen lawn food
    19 - Miracle Gro Complete
    22 - Miracle Gro Singles
    12 - Miracle Gro Organics
    12 - Levington Tomorite

all have 50p coupons with a 31st December 2009 expiry date

Not wanting to be greedy I did not take all the coupons.

This was a smallish garden centre, not a chain.

Oh well, guess who will spend an hour or so cutting coupons out !

I suppose most people have already got all they need, but thought would ask first rather than chuck in bin. I have at least 2 of each of the morrisons coupons, but due to personal circumstances will not be using them, so does anybody out there want any of them:confused: If you want to pm me, specify which date you want (please don't all ask for the last ones;)). If you pm before 4pm will send 1st class today if that helps anybody maybe wanting this weeks

hi, the tescos we go to all sell the the singles , we've rooted thru em to see if any coupons were hidden in the boxes,;)
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

never complain about growing old,far too many people have been denied that privilege.

Our Tesco manager today said as long as there is a tesco somewhere that stocks the item then they will take it there

Thanks for clarifying this as I was always under the impression that the store you use the coupon in actually sells the product. My favorite Tesco will only accept the coupon if they themselves stock the item so I will raise this question with them and see what they have to say. Will let you all know what they say.

Congratulations!!:j I am in dire need of money and saw that Gala bingo (not the internet one) is having play free bingo all day tomorrow so I'm thinking I should go and hope I win something. I'm usually pretty lucky at bingo and it's been ages since I've been, just not keen on sitting there wasting time while they play party bingo (I don't play party bingo, that's where you tend to spend too much money).

    Hello All

This morning I opened a letter from Nivea enclosing, with compliments, 2 x £1 coupons against any Nivea product. This was following a mail I sent them requesting coupons via the following link.

Excellent service got them within a couple of days, worth a try:

    http://www.niveaformen.com/meta/contact.html

Have been trying to find an actual coupon for about a month now! But no luck will keep trying, hope this contribution helps! xxxx
