Tent for side of a caravan

Im not sure what theyre called, but i know you can buy a tent kind of thing that attaches to the side of a caravan to make it bigger etc does anyone know where sells these online?

Have tried a few searches but just keep coming up with normal tents so not sure if they have a special name?

Awnings!!!! Thats the word i was looking for

    Ta very much!!
  • Decent awnings are expensive.
A friend of mine managed to convert his old tent into a porch canopy by threading some thick wire through where the tent poles used to go and then threading it into the awning rail of the caravan. Its actually quite effective !
Another alternative is to pitch a garden gazebo style tent next to the caravan.

they can be expensive if you are going
for the full size awning.Have a look at
the Sunncamp 260 we fancy one of
them on our caravan it would work out
about £150 to £175 for our caravan
    depending where you buy it.

    Main advantages its light weight,
easy to put up and a lot cheaper than
    a traditional awning.We made a point of
asking people who had them last year
on the different sites we stayed on what
they thought of them all the
comments were very favourable and all of
them without exception got theirs because
the putting up and taking down of traditional
    awnings was a real pain.

Its worth checking the secondhand colums
    because there are often secondhand
    traditional ones
    going for very reasonable prices.

Have a look on Ebay or local paper, buying new they can be very expensive. Many people sell almost new ones for a fraction of the cost new.
You could have a look over at www.ukcampsite.co.uk as there will be a lot of info over there.

Hi I highly recommend a dorema awning, you can buy various sizes off ebay. We bought a small version for our caravan for when we go away for just short breaks and have the large one for when we are away for weeks at a time. Our small one cost us about £70.

In my opion and others might say differently but i wouldnt but these cheap lightweight ones. we find they tend to leak and are not like the canvas ones that dont. We bought one brand new from the nec show and it leaked and in winds put dents in the van.

I know four different friends who have had the same sort of problems with these and have all got rid of them and bought small canvas awning.
