Help with NVQ Level 2 Business and Administration

I'm starting to struggle slightly with the above course! I'm doing it in my work time when I have the time (!) as too busy to try and do it at home. I've got some questions and answers that I have been doing but I'm a bit stuck with the following....
UK 10 Give me some examples of specific legislation or regulations that apply to your role (eg health and safety requirements in construction, financial regulations in a finance advice role etc)
I answered this with a bit about health and safety legislation such as taking reasonable care in my job when working such as keeping the area tidy etc etc and thinking about other people that may be affected by my actions.
The assessor is telling me that I need to find out what my company is a member of in terms of specific legislation that they need to have!? so to me thats not something that applies to 'my role' as the question states.
PI 13 and UK 22 How do you work with other people that shows sensitivity to their individual needs?
I've put a bit about training someone to do my job and being aware of how they are feeling during training, and making sure they understand etc. But then I go onto the next question which is PI 14 and UK 23 and 24 which is Tell me about how you have learned about other peoples needs and values and have used (or could use) this to improve the way you work with others?
I've just put by listening and communicating to people I feel I am able to understand what people need and what their values and beliefs are.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which sounds completely naff and doesn't sound the right answer.
I haven't answered this one yet but think I should be able to....PI 15 Where are your organisations procedures and legal requirement's in relation to discrimination legislation? which then leads to How do I carry these out in my job!?
Any help would be MUCH appreciated! I am slowly beginning to regret doing this course, I'm in my mid 30's and don't think its going to get me anywhere plus finding the assessor slightly patronising!

have a look through your contract of employment it may have a bit in there
also whats in the company handbook
ask hr some info they may know
with regards to companys, i imagine they have similar but different rules in H and S, for example a nursry school will have different rules to H and S compared to a corner shop

what does your company do?The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0

What sort of company do you work for?
VQs are really designed to help you understand the knowledge required for your job role, and also how other influences affect your job, which is why the question will be asking about legislation for your company, as this indirectly affects your job - you may not need to know a lot of the information as part of your job, but the VQ is about expanding knowledge and get a slightly more in depth understanding of the company in general.
Do you have a staff handbook, or somewhere that all the company policies and procedures are kept? Have a look through all the company policies you can find, and they should give you some answers.
Do you have contact with customers? If you do, you could put something about understanding and responding to customer needs, any irate customers etc.
I've done my Level 2 and Level 3 VQ's in Business Admin, so I'll see if I can dig out the old files.0 -

Try something around for example, trip hazards around workstations; working at heights for changing lightbulbs etc [or calling in someone who is trained if that's what you do]. Also, whatever your company do, there must be some legislation that can link to them.....so give us some general info about what the company do and we can see if we can point you in the right direction.

It is naff. sorry! What you need to do here is to show examples where you have been aware of something and changed your approach to meet their needs - and also to give examples where you have changed your approach to the way you work with others [an example would be to appreciate someone who was stressing out prior to their wedding and you took them aside, went through their work with them; took some away from them and helped them organise their remaining weeks before the wedding to maximise efficiency and minimise stress].

Get a copy of your procedures and have a read through, again you will need to give examples in your work of how you carry them out....difficult I know but for example suggesting amendments to loo facilities on the ground floor plus arranging meetings on the ground floor whereever possibly to minimise stress on any attendeed who might have difficulties accessing the first floor, etc etc
Hope it helps.0 -

Thanks for the above explanation of an nvq, shame my assessor couldn't explain it as well!

I've got loads of company procedures which I've been using, think I'll re-read them and hopefully find out a bit more info.
Do you have contact with customers? If you do, you could put something about understanding and responding to customer needs, any irate customers etc.
No I don't deal with any customers though I deal a lot with employees as I do the payroll
I've done my Level 2 and Level 3 VQ's in Business Admin, so I'll see if I can dig out the old files.
That would be fantastic - thank you:T0 -
