Yankee Candle TSV

This Thursday at Midnight, it's a Yankee Candle TSV:D

Have actually just placed an order at Yankee Doodle and can someone answer me this...on my quest to save money:rolleyes::D, I noticed that there were 12 tart burner tealights for £3.99 or a bag of 25 tealights for £4.99.

Now I obviously got the bag but I am assuming same difference surely? and they only brand them different in the hope that muppets like me buy them?!!!!!

Have to say am not overly impressed with tarts :( I got them to try as I got a tart burner and bag of tarts for a cheap price and they seem to last for ages even when I put only half in. Now I know that seems good but I don't always want to smell the same fragrance for 10 days (which is what one of them took before I lost patience and tipped it out!!)

Considering I have used half of the large jars already, these tiny tarts of wax seem to go on forever!!! Am LOVING the black cherry though so I have bought a large jar of that. Sparkling lemon was on offer which is fab as it's lovely to have on the kitchen.

My all time fave has to be Ginger Citrus though - I absolutely adore it :)

Me too; but heres a tip.

When you're bored of a fragrance put your burner in the freezer (once the wax has cooled and solidified). Leave it for an couple hours and then when you take the burner ou, the tart should just slide out with a small amount of pressure.

That way you can change and use a different fragrance; but save the solid tart to re burn another time.

That's great - thanks for that! I got about 12 tarts and am keen to try them all out!!!

I just couldn't believe how long a tart was burning!! I mean I have my candles on for about 7 hours a night and this wax was just not going down!!
  • Or you can use a circle of silver foil or the silver foil trays that come with bakewell tarts.
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

No way would I ever burn a candle here again. The soot traces are all around one wall.
I now have reeds in perfume.

If you want to change it you can also light the tealight under neath and then the tart will slide out after a minute or too, don't leave it too long or it might collapse in your hand!

I had the same query about tarts never reducing and asked in my local Yankee Candle shop. Apparently because they're not in direct contact with the flame they will never reduce in size but they will lose their fragrance after 4-6hrs. Also the darker colours are a sronger & longer lasting smell compared with the lighter coloured tarts.
    Nice to save.

    Thats a really great idea:j
I have a burner(bodyshop one and I think its for oil and not tarts),which is a real pain to get the tart out once its melted. I usually boil a kettle, leave some water to melt then take out.

Now that TOTALLY makes sense especially if you see when I first posted I said I used the same tart for 10 days and I kid you not I mentioned to my daughter on the second day that there was no smell when I walked back in the living room!!!!

And the freezer tip works a treat. Pop it in for 5 mins or so and it literally does slide out.
I also used the tip for the votive holders when there was only a wee bit left and it worked perfect for them too!!

If I could thank you twice amyb I would!!!:D

I'll answer my own question too in cse anyone is curious...whilt watching the TSV that I origianlly posted about it came up about tealights/tart burners and the Yankee Candle lady said that they were changing the name of tart burners to unscented tealights.

So it is worthwhile buying a bag of tealights as oppose to a box for the tarts :)
