My husband is currently paying for a 17 year old who will be in his last year at school.

If he leaves school, which will be now really as it's exam time (in Scotland), when would Child Benefit end if he isn't going to continue in non-advanced education?

Also, how can we get CSA to find out if CHB has ended - we have no contact at all and don't even know where they live etc(RP's choice not ours:mad:)

Can I just contact CSA and ask them to check for me and what's the best way to do this as they have denied telephone conversations in the past so I'm a bit wary of them:rolleyes:

    hello,

if the child is not going into further education, then i believe (someone may correct me) that cb can be paid for up to a further 20 weeks. unless they are going into employment of more than 24 hrs per week in which case different rules apply and cb should cease. cb will also cease if the 'child' claims his/her own benefits.

no cb payments then no csa payments

Write in using recored delivery and ask if PWC still getting CB and is CSA still payable.
PWC,s have been known to forget to inform CSA that there children have left education and got work or JSA.
