Natwest or RBS mortgage?
Options

Hello,
I am a first time buyer (with my partner), and am undecided which mortgage to go for. THe best options I have found are RBS and Natwest which are both 5 year fixed deals, 4.59%, £299 arrangement fee.
We aren't stretching ourselves in terms of income multiples and 25% deposit. We have spoken to a mortgage broker.
Does anyone have any opinion on which of RBS or natwest would be better for service (I am aware natwest is part of RBS), or know any better mortgage deals?
Thanks

One part is for Purchase(Natwest) - The other for Buy to let, they are both as incompetent as each other, but do have good rates.0

The mortgage centre is dual branded so once the application has been submitted they will be dealt with at the same place. Personally it all boils down to dealing with someone who will give you the type of service you want.0

IMHO, RBS branch and call centre staff are better than NatWest.
Agree with Chamta, its all branding for the same product, at the end of the day.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The mortgage call centre and processing admin debt will be the same people. The people in the branch and any personal bank manager will be different. In my personal experience, the RBS staff are consistently good; NatWest have some very good staff, some good staff and some who let the image down.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. During our daughter and SIL's mortgage application, NatWest have been brilliant, very very helpful and quick at getting things done0

I've always had exceptional service from Natwest with my accounts, but I've never held a mortgage with them.
Nice rate that thoughThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
