Yeah, but you don't. You get 7 days and then you get another 8 once the dispute is open. Drives me crazy to have stock tied up for over a fortnight.... I think you get 7 days to pay don't you?
You should get 7 days and that's it- fees back, end of situation. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. No, I usually only wait until the end of the day, or the next morning, when the money from one paypal account is transferred into another.

The item I sold was a car so we aren't talking a few pounds, plus because the buyer went on holiday (or so he claimed) I had to park it in someone elses space in the carpark. I had timed the listing just right, so wasn't happy. He probably just changd his mind and wanted out of the deal...0

I know it's annoying, but some people do use snipers (I do too sometimes), and if you're out when the auction ends, that's why it's not paid for straight away. The annoying thing is when people, established ebayers, place their first bid on your item 30 seconds before the auction closes, then they disappear for 4/5 days before paying! Why?!
Taking 7 days is allowed, but why wait to pay for an item that cost less than a tenner and could be posted to you in 24 hours?
On the whole I pay within a few hours of winning though.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
I always pay within a few hours & also get a bit frustrated when someone takes days to pay.
I am a personal seller who is trying to have a clear out, I time my listings so I don't have too much stuff hanging around at any one time. When I get a few people take nearly a week to pay & it has already been out of the loft for a week, its hard going to keep inquiring little fingers away from it!
On the other extreme - last Sunday I bid & won something at 1pm & the seller had delivered it to me by 2pm! I was very impressed - that's what I call service.0 -
Maybe some people aren't glued to their computer or ebay 24/7?
I can only get on a couple of times a week sometimes so may bid for something finishing the next day but not physically be able to get on line again to pay for it (if I win) for a few days.
Also, if I win an auction I wait to be sent an invoice. If I win an auction whilst I am on line but don't receive an invoice whilst I'm on line then I don't pay it until the next time I'm online.
The rules are 7 days so people are entitled to use the seven days! People aren't neccesarilly waiting to pay but have other things to do.0 -
Just out of interest... why?Maybe some people aren't glued to their computer or ebay 24/7?

Most of the time when I've bought things I've bought more than 1 item from the seller and needed an invoice showing the combined postage. Probably says more about my binge buying instincts than anything else!
If there was a rule saying you must pay within (say) 2 days and I knew I couldn't get back on-line before then then I just wouldn't bid - would improve cash flow but possibly reduce selling prices.
Maybe if ebay could show on the summary page when the buyer last logged on it would give sellers confidence that the buyers weren't intentionally avoiding paying but just hadn't been able to get online?0 -

That might help! Plus I understand the combined postage thing, but I have sold one item, she doesnt need to wait for an invoice even though I have sent one.
I am like one of the previous sellers, I sell personal stuff. I only sell a few things at a time, as I dont get much time to pack everything up and go to the post office. It takes more time than you think! When they take a 4-7 days to pay, it clogs up the following weeks posting.
To some people it may be silly, but its just how it is.Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -
I needed a new fridge as my old one was leaking gas, but kept getting outbid.
Got one as a buy it now, emailed the seller with my mobile number, she rang me back within half an hour, got her address, drove there (took an hour from home to hers), paid on collection, her bloke and son put the fridge in the car for us and we drove home.
All paid for and done within 2hours of buying it on ebay!! I am very happy and the lady was lovely aswell.
Quickest ebaying i've ever done! :TRecently moved to South Wales
