Right I am going to make my curtains

but I need advice as I want to put a layer of fleece in between the liner and the fabric.
I have read many tutorials about lined curtains and I will be sewing up the side, having a bigger fabric than lining, so when I press it looks luverly. What I want to know is, at that point, can I put a piece of fleece in between and will it weather the storm whilst sewing on the tape.
Thank you in advance.

I would baste the fleece onto the lining leaving a space for the header tape then I would proceed as normal for lined curtains HTHBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

God, I sound like a wally but you would make sure the fleece hits the sides but not on the header tape?
So would you sew the fleece to the lining to start with.0 -

Thank you so much. I have ordered the fabric and it's cost £35.00 so I don't want to get it wrong. I am using an old pair of curtains and taking the lining & header tap as they were given to me and are Laura Ashley, but are the wrong colour, so I'll keep the fabric.
If I put fleece in as above, do you reckon it will block light as well as being a bit warm or do I need blackout lining and thanks again.0 -
As long as the fleece is a darkish colour you shouldn't need a blackout liner
An alternative would be to buy a blackout blind (you can get lots of colours ) And just make normal curtains to hang in front.
Argos do a range of sizes and the price is reasonableBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

They are done. I didn't bother with the fleeces in the end as the fabric was quite thick:j Lots ot hard work today, I must say.0 -
