Making own soap to sell

Does anybody have any advice, best sites to buy ingredients from etc., for making own soaps, thought I would give it a go and try selling a few on E-bay, this is something I've wanted to do for ages so even if it didn't work out I would still have the equipment to make them for home use, I am also a qualified aromatherpist so know what I'm doing with adding essential oils etc.,
Thanks

Be careful to test anything you sell and list all the ingredients on the label as you dont want anyone complaining about your soap causes rashes etc.

I have looked into this and thought that making scented candles is better as at least they jus light it and dont use it on their body you couldnt get sued for causing any health problems

    Hello

I looked into this and came up against a whole load of regulations that made me forget my plans. As I understand it, in order to sell to the public you need to get any cosmetics including soaps independently verified before you can proceed. I would suggest that you start looking into the regs before you spend too much time on this.

Yes, as the others have said, it's the legals/regulations that you'll find mean it's not practical.

You have to keep strict records of everything you buy and every batch you make. Each batch has to be labelled and you need to be able to ascertain from your records exactly which ingredients went into it (down to the individual invoice level).

It needs to be tested - or all your ingredients need to have been tested and certified. If you buy all the ingredients, with the certificates, you can't then change anything in your bar. You can't experiment, unless you get the certificate/testing done on the new variety.

You have to keep/provide the technical data sheets on the contents of the soaps.

Here's a link where somebody who supplies oils lists all the allergens

Covers some of it. Gives you an idea. And it is like that for every ingredient.
