old debt???

hi, first time poster, so apologies if this isnt in the right place!

I finally worked up to tackling my debts earlier this year and have some £12,500 of debt on a DMP with CCCS. Then, out of the blue, i have recieved a letter from a company called Capquest saying I owe them almost £300 for an old Capital one debt. Ive checked on mky credit file, it says this debt was satisfied and i am sure it was paid, although i cant remember if it was to capital one or another agency?!? The debt is about four years old.

Capquest have sent me three letters, each one claiming Il be taken to court by a certain dat but then they just send another letter. The letters are clearly worded to intimidate, which is annoying.

What can i do? Thanks in advance!

Ask them for a copy of the original signed agreement! Look around this forum for a letter to send to them! I will send you one tonight if you want via private message.
