RECIPE OF THE DAY
CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES
Love cooking and love chocolate? Then feast your eyes on our Chocolate Cupcake recipe. Perfect for an indulgent bake-fest. Try out our recipes on your friends and family. We're sure they'll be delighted.

For this recipe you'll need two Thorntons Dark Chocolate Blocks (this leaves you half a bar to enjoy all to yourself!)

Ingredients for cupcakes
40g of Thorntons Dark Chocolate Block (for an alternatively hot take on our cupcakes why not try this recipe with our Chilli Chocolate Block!)
55g salted butter
110g light muscavado sugar
100g self-raising flour
1 medium egg
70ml evaporated milk
70ml warm water

Ingredients for icing
100g of Thorntons Dark Chocolate Block
100g soft butter
125g icing sugar


How to make the cupcakes

• Pre-heat the oven to 180°c/gas mark 4
• Melt the chocolate to a runny consistency (approx 1 minute in a microwave on 750w)
• Place all of the ingredients with the chocolate into a food processor or hand blend until smooth
• Carefully spoon the mixture into cupcake cases
• Bake for 14 - 20 minutes
• Remove from the oven and turn out on a wire cooling rack

How to make the icing

• Blend the butter and icing sugar together
• Melt the chocolate (as before) and add to the mixture
• Once cooled cover each cupcake with a generous amount of chocolate icing and enjoy!
