Condenser or vented tumble dryer.

Hi folks, just wondering if you could help me with deciding between which type to get.

We have never had a tumble dryer before and have the space for one in the kitchen near an external wall. We can also afford either having looked at the prices of them.

Now I realise condensers are more expensive but can be located anywhere (although location is not really a problem for us). I just wondered if anyone could tell me the pros and cons of either.

Which would you buy? There are only 2 of us in our house (although we are getting a BIG BIG dog). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We have always had one that is vented to the outside if only because they would appear to be more efficient and there is little, if anything to go wrong.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

If you have the choice I would go for vented over condenser.

Have had both over the years and it can get a bit wearing emptying the water bucket on the condenser (have a condenser at the mo) although it does help keep the room warm as no heat escapes!
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

I have had both, and next time I am going for vented.I find the condenser takes longer, and you cant put so many clothes in.

It sounds pretty clear cut so far then....anyone disagree?

I'd agree with those comments, we have got a condenser purely because of where our tumble dryer is situtated but find it takes a lot longer to dry and emptying the reservoir is a pain, if you forget and it gets full up it doesn't dry the washing.
