UCC - loan I didn't apply for!

I logged into Credit Expert today just to look over my credit report, as I do from time to time. I noticed they have a new feature called Lower My Bills, so I clicked on it and it seemed to be a Money Supermarket type feature where it looks for the best deals available. I tried out the credit card and loans tab, but made sure NOT to click on the "Apply now" box for any of the options that came up.

Now I've checked my emails and I have one from UCC Loans, thanking me for my application and telling me they'll contact me soon! Not at 63% interest, you won't!!!

Has anyone else had this problem? I can't understand how this counts as a loan application in any way.

I didn't enter any, really. But the way this new feature works is that it uses the details Credit Expert already have and matches them against the various companies. So UCC will have the basics like my name and date of birth, but they won't have anything like enough info to proceed with a loan application, I wouldn't have thought.

Are there any searches related to this registered on your credit file? They are usually fairly realtime.
