Asda Corporate Management

Hello All!

The short version of this post is that--I am hunting for the Middle Manager's name--whosovever it is--to write the poison pen letter of my life. If ANYONE knows who this person is, and the address, Please let me know. If you want all the gory details, read on.

I have just had the weekend from HELL from ASDA.

1. I ordered my groceries online, and they were delivered, and missing items whose value was greater than £10. Called the customer services line and reported missing items. They asked if I would allow them to redeliver these items tomorrow. I said OK. They said someone would call to arrange redelivery time sometime that night, and definitly before noon the following day.

2. Noon the following day. No Call. I called Asda Call Centre. Spent three hours on the phone re-explaining the situation. Turns out the store the items were short from didn't bother to call me back. I ask for a refund on these items on the phone. Refund takes 7-10 working days--Fine.

3. At 4 PM, I get a call from the Asda store the groceries were supposed to be delivered from. They also apologized for the missing items, and assured me I would be refunded and comped the lamb steaks (which apparently are the adequate substitute when you ask for a lamb shoulder joint).

4. Saturday (9 May 09), I go out with the awful issue behind me. Go to hampstead for the day. Go to take money out of the ATM for crepes. Im NEGATIVE £123! Pull the mini statement--Asda Charged me TWICE!

5. Sunday (10 May 09), I call ASDA at 1:30 PM and ask whats going on! They explain how the day they deliver they took £163 as a holding, then because I arranged re-delivery, they didn't release the holding-and the store-Feltham-instead of giving me the refund on missing items-REBILLED ME. The man says he will forward it to accounts and someone will speak to me before 6:30 PM

6. 6:30 PM, I call to find out why accounts didn't bother to call me. Turned out the agent lied to me, Accounts weren't even working today. And that for Asda to straighten the situation out and give me my refund they want to take 7-10 days like a normal refund. I said this will not due, as I have a frozen account, can't afford the ticket to work in the morning. She says it can take two days, but I have to stay home from work to take the call before noon!

So here I wait. Fortunately, I have no worry about getting to work-the partner helped me out with money.

So I want to write about the whole thing to ASDA at the corporate level. Does anyone who has also had an excruciating experience like this have the appropriate names and addresses?

Thank you!

Write to Asda's Chief Executive, Andy Bond at their Head Office address explaining the nature of your problem. Send the letter recorded delivery and give them 14 days from date of receipt to respond to you.

Have you had this experience before? Does writing to him get any results-I would suspect him to just defer it to the appropriate person. Do we know who his customer relationshions senior manager is?
