hen weekend surprise suggestions??

Hi everyone,
I'm the chief bridesmaid for my sister who's getting married in July and she's arranged the entire hen weekend (she's very organised!). I need to think of some ideas of extra surprises but she's already organised the itinary, outfits etc for the whole time...
Do you have any suggestions of what surprises I could do? I was hoping to get naked butlers or something but it's already over £200 each and she's told everyone the amount so I can't really ask for more money from everyone - and I can't afford £120 extra for that!! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks :)xXx

hi there, why not have some "surprise" presents in your possession to spring on her over the weekend? Im going on a hen week in a few weeks time, and this is what we have so far -
Bottles of champagne snapped up after Valentines Day in Tesco (think they'd been reduced to £1.50 a bottle) so we can toast the week on the first night
Personalised chocolates - this week Thorntons online are having a May Madness week, and one of the offers is that the Alphabet truffles will be half price (£7.25 instead of £14.50) This is for 22 chocolates which can say pretty much anything - im gonna get 2 boxes for us all to share with the champagne!!
I have also bought us all matching (well, they're all pink but different designs!) necklaces from the Spoiled Brat sale online, just over a fiver each but thought it would be "our thing" for the week (you know, instead of like a tshirt or something) plus its something we can wear afterwards.
we also managed to get her some perfume that she likes from Boots in the sale at Xmas so she'll be getting that as well.
of course, it could be things that you have made to give her, one offs that she wont be expecting but will treasure forever?? maybe you could buy her a large scrapbook and some disposable cameras, then let yourselves loose and take loads of pics and then she can arrange them in the book afterwards as a keepsake??You're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0 -
Here's a few ideas from my own and sisters hen night.......neither of us wanted the whole dressing up potty thing but we still had a good laugh.
When my sister got married we gave her a decroated notebook that said Tips for a happy mariage and a fluffy pen and we made her go around asking random people for tips and writing them in her book, it was a really good laugh and it gave her a funny keepsake to remember it, we made up a scroll out of a peice of paper and decorated it and on it is had a list of things that she had to achieve like, asking a baldy man if she could kiss his head, things like that, you can get really good ideas on line for the list if you google it.
On my hen night my sisters arranged for everybody to bring a gift that would help me in married life, i got, paracetamol, a dog's collar and lead for my husband to be, a washing up brush and a few more riskee preszzie's but it was fun. They surprised me with a cake with sparklers after a meal and made me wear a hat with sparkly willies hanging off it v embarassing!!0 -
I've been asked to contribute to scrapbook/keepsake book for Hen Weekends - for one we were all asked to bring a photo of our earliest memory with the bride-to-be = cue school photos etc. This was fun as lots of the hen party were from different groups of her friends and got to swap stories! Then these were added with other 'helpful hints' for a successful marriage and the hen weekend photos.
You could do a quiz where she has to guess the answers her fiance would give - forfeits/prizes, etc.0 -
All brilliant ideas, thanks guys!!x:A0

:rotfl:The groom is film and asked alot of embrassing/funny questions about his bride to be, the same questions are asked to the bride to be on her hen night, but asking her what she thinks he would say. (Ask one question, play his answer). Very very funny and alot of their secrets are given away.0

I have been to many hen weekends ( always the bridesmaid and never the bride ...sniff sniff)
I am an expert in hen cakesvery easy to make - family size swiss roll, four tunnock tea cakes and lots of pre-coloured pink icing
always goes down well after a meal and drinking.
Also have done these:
* T-shirts printed - get each guest to give you blank t shirt ( they then all fit the people and you dont take the cost (you could get badges done cheaper)
* Placemats with pictures of the bride with dodgy haircuts etc - print (laminate if you want) easy to slip onto the table before the bride can see.
* List of dares - with instructions that Bride can pass them on to others (limit the number she can pass on)
* Mr and Mrs quiz is good and you get very honest answers from the groom !
* I have also made a pinata (?) full of sweets - in the shape of a huge phallus - paper machine a large balloon and stick on pink crepe paper. Just need a blind fold and something to hit it with ( instructions found online - just changed the shape !)
* Keepsake books are good, as is asking everyone (mil and mob ) for advice for happy marriage, or how to control a husband !
Have a great time !0 -
At my friends hen night we all had to bring an envelope along with three images or photos inside which were clues to a amusing story about the bride. They were all put into a bag and she had to pic a envelope at a time, look at the three clues, guess the amusing (usually embarrassing) story, tell everyone about it and then guess the person who prepared the envelope. On getting ti right, she got a present from that person to 'help' her in married life. We all had fun thinking of stories and preparing the presents and envelopes....and a right laugh hearing the amusing things she'd got up to!0
